United in Community
The Sunshine Community Trust was founded in 2023 by the Board of Directors of United Southern Bank as a means to support local community and charitable organizations through the stewardship of generously donated funds designated in support of beneficial community causes. As a community bank, USB has partnered with and supported community-minded organizations and causes throughout our long, rich history. The Sunshine Community Trust is a natural manifestation of USB's long-held values of community involvement, community service, and philanthropic support. United Southern Bank has always been deeply committed to serving our community. Now, through the Sunshine Community Trust, we are continuing to invest in the future of our friends and neighbors.
Education Fund
The Sunshine Community Trust’s Education Fund provides funding for grants that support scholarship funds at post-secondary educational institutions based in Lake County, Florida. So far, over $75,000 has been donated to local schools, benefitting hundreds of students across a wide variety of technical and post-secondary programs, including nursing. When making a donation to the Sunshine Community Trust, you can designate funds in support of the Education Fund’s efforts.
General Fund
The Sunshine Community Trust’s General Fund supports local nonprofit organizations making an impact in our communities. A donation to the General Fund will go-to support charities working to support our friends and neighbors in areas like housing, food security, public health, public safety, and more.
